Catherine M. A. Askew - Bio

Catherine Askew is a freelance Illustrator currently living in the middle of England in the UK.

Catherine has been drawing since the day she could hold a pencil and so it only made sense that in her later years, no matter how much promise she showed in other academic areas, she would pursue a career as a creative. She has worked in a variety of media over the years, studying fine art and all areas of design, but currently she likes to draw and then turn those drawings into prints.

She has very recently finished her Batchelor of Arts in Graphic Design and Illustration, which gave her the opportunity to study over a wide spectrum of the design industry. In doing so, she found herself as an Illustrator (not a previously conceived Graphic Designer) and now hopes to continue on this vein and flourish as a practitioner.

Her work is centred around her hand-drawn line work and finished with a hands on approach. Her current love is screen print, but even her digitally finished work holds on to a nostalgic, human aesthetic.

Her current aims are to take on as many challenging projects as possible to build on her style and portfolio; have as many people as possible see her work; be able to pay her rent, and maybe one day learn to play the piano.
